The Place is inviting applications to Choreodrome 2023, its "annual residency programme for experienced makers to explore new artistic territory without the pressure of creating a finished product."
Previous Choredrome residencies have gone to Yukiko Masui with the album made in collaboration with Sarah Golding as part of SAY, Eve Stainton’s Dykegeist, Sonia Sabri with Kathakbox and Luca Silvestrini (Protein) with works Portrait with a Group and Duck, Border Tales and May Contain Food.
Each Choreodrome research residency comprises 1–2 weeks of studio time, producing support, creative feedback, networking opportunities and £2.5k to fund their residency time.
Next year, The Place with East London Dance will offer a hip hop residency support package and, with A+E Lab, a new Virtual Reality residency.
