PLASA Innovation Awards Winners

The 2013 PLASA Awards have been celebrated this month at PLASA London, the industry's principal event for sound, lighting and stage technologies in the UK.

The eight PLASA Awards for Innovation have been given to

  • Clay Paky for the A.Leda B-EYE K20 – a versatile luminaire with “wow” factor
  • SGM for the G-Spot LED – the first fully-weatherised automated profile spot
  • QSC Audio for the PLD/CXD Amplifier – an incredibly flexible amplifier
  • Flare Audio for the SB18C – a truly innovative approach to an age-old problem
  • Bleasdale for the Interactive User Manual – a green solution and the first user manual that people will enjoy using
  • Line 6 for the StageScape M20d – a totally different way of thinking: a conceptual approach to sound
  • Robe for the Mini-Me – a digital moving light with the simplicity of a conventional automated fixture
  • Shared between LumenRadio for the SuperNova3 and Artistic Licence for eSense – two products of similar purpose and equal merit that solve data management problems eloquently and practically

Brompton Technology, Chromlech, Clay Paky, Flare Audio for the X5A and Artistic Licence received honourable mentions from the judges.

TMB received The Award for Sustainability for the energy saving Solaris LED Flare and Jim Bornhorst won the Gottelier Award, which recognises significant and sustained contributions technology.

Chris Toulmin, Event Director, PLASA London, said, “Year after year we see the most fantastic products being developed and brought to market that can make a significant difference.

"Some are industry changers while others, just as importantly, are simply designed to make an engineer’s life that much easier.

"This year’s winners raise the bar again and we congratulate them all on their achievements.”
