An annual event, the Russian Ballet Icons series, a tribute to Russian Ballet will take place at the London Coliseum Sunday 9 March 2014, this year with the added raison d'etre of it being 'The Year of Russian Culture in the UK'.
The evening promises to feature leading dancers from the Bolshoi, Mariinsky, Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, ballets of the Grand Opera Paris, Berlin Staatsoper, New York City Ballet and the Ballet of Monte Carlo.
Excerpts from the Russian classical repertoire promise to be complimented by contemporary works by choreographers such as John Neumeier, Roland Petit, John Cranko, Kenneth Macmillian, Maurice Bejart, Twyla Tharp, Jessica Lang and Alexey Ratmansky.
