The Grand in Blackpool is to host what is widely regarded as the most terrifying live theatre experience, when The Woman in Black plays from March 30 to April 4.
Adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the 1983 gothic novel by Susan Hill, The Woman In Black is now celebrating 25 years in the West End—the second-longest running non-musical play in the West End after Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap.
The story is related by retired-solicitor Arthur Kipps who recalls his ghostly experiences when he was summoned on business to a small English town on the north east coast.
A spectacular piece of theatre, The Woman In Black is a favourite amongst audiences of all ages for its ability to chill even the most-hardened thrill-seeker.
The play’s widespread popularity has led to a range of adaptations for radio, television and film, including the 2012 film version which starred Daniel Radcliffe as Kipps.
