The UK première of Half Life by Canadian playwright John Mighton opens the autumn season on 29 September at Theatre Royal Bath's Ustinov Studio.
The comedy looks at memory and aging through a relationship between octogenarians. It will be directed by Nancy Meckler; the composer and sound designer is Philip Pinsky.
A second UK première immediately follows: Trouble In Mind by Alice Childress.
This 1955 work satirises the white-dominated theatre scene of its time, being set during rehearsals of an anti-lynching play where a talented African-American actress works with a white director.
The Ustinov Studio’s artistic director, Laurence Boswell, will direct a cast that includes Tanya Moodie and Joseph Marcell. The composer and sound designer is Jon Nichols.
The season includes post show discussions and other special events.
