A new play about Argentina’s Dirty War, in which more than 30,000 people were disappeared between 1976 and 1983 by the Military Junta, is to have its world première at London's Southwark Playhouse next month.
Presented by Theatre Bench, the play is written by Paul Jenkins from an original concept by Amy Draper and has music and lyrics by Darren Clark.
In the cast are Val Jones, Charlotte Worthing and Greg Barnett with actor-musicians Anne-Marie Piazza, Eilon Morris and Rachel Dawson, cabaret artist Alexander Luttley and illusionist Neil Kelso. There will also be an additional cabaret artist at every performance.
These Trees Are Made Of Blood previews from 18 March in the Small at Southwark Playhouse.
On Tuesday 24 March there will be a post show Q&A. This date is a public holiday in Argentina to mark The Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, to commemorate the victims of the Dirty War.
