Tickets Ignite has launched a fund that will see money from booking fees fed back into the arts.
The Ignite Fund offers two grants of £1,000 each to artists or organisations whose work has been featured in an event ticketed through Tickets Ignite between June 2017 and February 2019.
Applications, which will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts, are welcome from artists, designers, producers, stage managers and others.
The project submitted must not yet have taken place and will be a live event with an audience, or a development process towards such an event. The deadline for receipt of applications is 6PM on 1 February.
Theatre producer and Tickets Ignite co-founder Emily Thommes said, “we are so proud to be opening our first Ignite Fund. This is a huge moment for us and follows a lot of hard work!
"We launched Tickets Ignite almost two years ago in reaction to the crisis of funding in the arts. This feels like a small but significant step towards reshaping the ticketing industry to better serve the arts.”
Tickets Ignite, which was established in 2017 by Emily Thommes and lighting designer and software engineer Oscar Wyatt, promises that, as the company grows, so will the number and size of future funds.
