JB Shorts 19

JB Shorts returns to the arches of Manchester’s 53two theatre for another run of six 15-minute plays by top TV writers from April 24 to May 5.

The new show comes hot on the heels of JB Shorts receiving The Stage Door Award for Excellence at the Manchester Theatre Awards.

For the 19th instalment, organisers welcome Rob Mallard (Coronation Street’s Daniel Barlow) to the line-up.

He plays Andrei in a 15-minute version of War and Peace. Created by the writing and directorial team that brought Wuthering Heights at Hurricane Speed, this bitesize classic also features the comic talent of JB Shorts favourite Amy Drake.

Meanwhile, James Quinn, who has been sleuthing as DS Willetts on the Phelan case in Weatherfield, warms up for the UK tour of Early Doors Live in his own play, Equivalent.
