Every fortnight, theatre company Bitter Pill selects a new short play to made available via its podcast.

The second in the Painkiller series is a debut theatre piece by novelist and short story writer Gus Crotty, A Case Of Mistaken Identity.

The two-hander stars BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning Toby Jones and Tony Award-winning Owen Teale and lasts roughly eight minutes.

The first Painkiller Project play is also available. Stuff stars Sophie Thompson and is written by Alison Carr.

The plays are directed by Max Elton.

The Painkiller Project continues for the duration of the lockdown, opening for submissions once a month with a new play becoming available every two weeks. Donations towards the Painkiller Project which enables those involved to be paid for their work are welcome.
