Other is the National Theatre of Scotland's first electronic game.

Sited in real–life Dundee, writing groups and noise workshops held in the community have informed and been used in the game which has been developed with Dundee–based award-winning games studio Quartic Llama.

An adventure horror game, it promises a fictional "sinister journey through the streets of Dundee [where] the possibility of horror is around every corner".

The Other project has been set up to support Dundee Rep's production of Let the Right One In, a stage adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist's work by Jack Thorne which has also included a 48-hour short film challenge the results of which will be available for viewing online.

Creative director of the project Philippa Tomlin said: “We’re really excited to be working on a project supporting Let The Right One In. It’s such a wonderfully dark and beautiful story and this has inspired our stories for the Other game.

"We’ve met and worked with some brilliantly creative people along the way and that, combined with Dundee’s atmosphere and all its rich layers of history, make it the perfect setting for this game.”

The Other project is a collaboration between the National Theatre of Scotland and Quartic Llama with Dundee Rep Theatre and the University of Abertay Dundee.

The Other game is available for download from 31 May with its launch accompanied by live site-specific events, film viewings and music.

Let the Right One In is directed by John Tiffany and runs from 5 to 29 June at Dundee Rep. For further information and booking visit www.dundeerep.co.uk.

Other Live Tours which are fully accessible to deaf audiences, are free but are limited in number. For further information visit www.otherdundee.com. iPhones will be available on loan with the payment of a deposit. The Other game is available free from the iPhone App Store.
