At the end of this month London's Tricycle Theatre will be handed over to the Young Company a group of 11- to 25-year-olds who be responsible for the venue's events for a week.
This inaugural festival—Tricycle Takeover—includes specially commissioned work The Kilburn Passion by Suhayla El-Bushra whose play Pigeons was seen recently at the Royal Court and hosting National Theatre Connections, an annual initiative which sees ten writers create new plays for young people, six of which will be chosen to be performed at the Connections Festival at the National Theatre.
The Tricycle Takeover programme also includes masterclasses on playwriting, acting, designing and directing and special cinema screenings.
