London's Tricycle Theatre, with four community venues across Brent, is presenting six new plays for this year's youth theatre festival, Mapping Brent.

The festival opens this week and will see performances of Sugar by Yasmin Joseph directed by Justin Audibert, a colOURful world written and directed by Natasha Nixon, a double-bill of Catriona Kerridge's We Are Here to Stay and Chris Finnegan's Blanket directed by Christopher Sivertsen, The Quest for Happiness written by Press Road Group 1 and directed by Natasha Marks and Aliyah Forde, and The OK Club Presents… written by OK Club Young Company and directed by Dionne Reid and David Gilbert.

The Tricycle's primary schools programme, Storylab, returns to support literacy amongst local children.

360 pupils aged 8 to 10 years old have participated to create new stories which have been workshopped and written by theatre director, composer and Olivier Award-winning actor Jonathan Glew. Storylab closes with a production directed by Glew performed by professional actors.
