A new initiative from Selladoor's Peterborough New Theatre will see young storytellers from the UK and the US participate in online workshops to create and share ideas.

Digital Youth Stories will introduce the writers to augmented reality, skilling them to employ the technology in videos they will write and create.

Peterborough New Theatre's US partner is the New York-based Brooklyn Youth Company. Their Erin McCready said, “BYC is thrilled to collaborate with Youth Creators from the United Kingdom. We are excited to share our devising techniques and explore new technologies with Selladoor. The strength of our stories is going to create a bond and a bridge across the Atlantic Ocean and across cultures. We can't wait to meet our new friends in the UK.”

Workshops will take place across January and February with the live world première of the new works on 5 March on the project Instagram page.

Applications are welcome from enthusiastic young creatives interested in digital storytelling. No prior experience is required. Application is by e-mail outlining suitability and the benefits of participating; the deadline for receipt is 7 January.
