The National Dance Company Wales Open Air Performance tour will visit outdoor spaces across Wales this August, also streamed as part of ZOO TV’s online Edinburgh Fringe programme 18–29 August.

NDCWales company dancers Ed Myhill and Faye Tan have been creating pieces for the outdoor in various locations across Wales. After the two performances, there will be an opportunity for the audience to join in and learn some moments from them.

Faye Tan's new dance piece Moving is everywhere, forever is "an ode to the act of dancing; an invitation to yield to the irresistible impulse of grooving" to a soundtrack by Welsh electronic duo Larch.

NDCWales has also been reworking for outdoors its 13-minute piece Why Are People Clapping!? by Ed Myhill, set to composer Steve Reich’s Clapping Music. The dancers clap, stamp and jump to create the live soundtrack.

National Dance Company Wales: Open Air Performances will be going to Chapter (Cardiff) 6 & 7 August, Aberystwyth Arts Centre 10 & 11 August, Theatr Clwyd (Mold) 13 August and Pontio (Bangor) 14 August.
