Theatr Clwyd is looking for three Welsh language writers to take part in their writer-in-residence scheme.
Part of Tyfu, [Grow], the venue's creative development programme, each writer will develop a 10-minute script for performance in the Roundabout, produced in collaboration with Paines Plough.
The chosen playwrights attend three days of rehearsals in London in April and in the Roundabout at Theatr Clwyd in early June during which time they work on their script, developing it in a supportive environment.
They will go on to work with a Welsh director and three actors for further development and rehearsal, with a view to performance in the Roundabout on 30 June.
The Theatr Clwyd Roundabout Welsh Residency provides assistance with the cost of travel, subsistence and expenses in the form of a bursary and an additional fee of £500.
Applications must be sent by e-mail to [email protected] and should be made up of a CV of work as a writer and other employment, training and education, brief descriptions of where you currently are as a writer and why you would like to be involved in this project.
Two pages of a script in the Welsh language must be attached to the e-mail which must include confirmation of availability on 16 to 18 April and the weeks beginning 4 June and 25 June.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 5PM on 23 March.
