Roundabout, Paines Plough’s portable theatre, is brought to Harbottle Park, Byker in Newcastle, from Thursday to Sunday by Northern Stage. Shows are: Black Love (musical) Friday 5:00, Sunday 4:00—Thursday show is sold out; Really Big and Really Loud (family show) Friday 3:00, Sunday 12:00; Hungry (new play) Saturday 5:00, Sunday 2:00; Welcome to Byker (Northern Stage Young Company) Thursday 5:45; Drag Me to Love Friday 7:30, Saturday 7:00; HERE (rehearsed reading) Saturday 7:00; What’s in the Box? (playmaking workshop for children) Saturday 3:00.

The Weebles, one of Northern Stage’s Neighbourhood Events, is an audio experience which can be listened to on Littlehaven Beach in South Shields, where the group of statues called Conversation Piece but known locally as The Weebles, is sited, or at home until 31 August. At Gosforth Civic Centre on Friday at 10:30 Kitchen Zoo presents Wolf!, a show for under-7s.

On Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30 and 1:30 at Alnwick Playhouse, Kitchen Zoo presents a Wolf! Workshop for the under-7s.

On Tuesday, Kitchen Zoo brings Wolf! to The Exchange in North Shields at 2:00.

At Playhouse Whitley Bay on Saturday (2:30 and 6:00) and Sunday (1130 and 2:30), Horrible Histories presents The Best of Barmy Britain.

Billingham International Folklore Festival of World Dance comes to Billingham Forum this week with The Two Fridas on Friday at 7:30, family dance show The Magic Bed on Saturday at 2:00 and The World in a Weekend (Part 1), dance from around the world, at 7:30. On Sunday at 2:00 the dance show is The Man Without a Heart and The World in a Weekend (Part 2) is at 7:00.

On Saturday at 8:30, Pantaloons Theatre Company brings The Wind in the Willows to RHS Harlow Carr, Harrogate. Tickets from Harrogate Theatre.
