On Saturday, Springboard, which gives actors in training an insight into staging a play in a professional theatre, presents Women, Power and Politics at Northern Stage.

Tyne continues at Live Theatre until 20 July. On Thursday and Friday in the Studio, playwright Alison Carr presents a script-in-hand performance of her work-in-progress The Soaking of Vera Shrimp.

Spoken word and music show RiverRuns comes to Arts Centre Washington on Friday.
