Opera North returns to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal with three of Benjamin Britten’s operas: A Midsummer Night’s Dream on Tuesday and Friday, Peter Grimes on Wednesday and Saturday and Death in Venice on Thursday.

Cooking with Elvis continues at Live Theatre until 23 November.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival runs at Northern Stage from Tuesday to Saturday, featuring four productions from different schools on each day.

On Friday and Saturday the National Dance Company of Wales brings Water Stories, Noces and Virtual Descent to Dance City.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival comes to Whitley Bay Playhouse on Monday and Tuesday at 7PM with four performances by different schools each night.

The Durham Shakespeare Schools Festival is at the Gala Theatre on Monday.

The touring production of Blood Brothers visits Billingham Forum from Monday to Saturday.

Mimika presents Landscapes (for ages 4–11) for four performances on Saturday at ARC Stockton.

To Sir with Love comes to Darlington Civic from Tuesday to Saturday.

On Tuesday and Wednesday The Shakespeare Schools Festival comes to the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond, followed on Friday and Saturday by the touring production of John Godber’s Teechers.
