Dick Whittington continues at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, until 17 January 2016.

At Northern Stage, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz continues in Stage 1 and Up and Out Christmas Sprout continues in Stage 2, both until 2 January.

Turning Pages, plays by 13- to 15-year-olds, is at Live Theatre from Thursday to Saturday.

From Friday until 30 December, the Newcastle Panto Company’s Aladdin is at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House.

From Tuesday to Saturday (various times), The Little Match Girl is at Dance City (ages 5 to 11).

The Customs House’s panto Alice in Wonderland opens on Tuesday and continues until 9 January, whilst from Saturday until 24 December (various times), Santa’s Naughty Elf & the Christmas Caper for very young children plays in The Studio.

On Wednesday, Northumberland Theatre Company presents The Ugly Duckling in the Studio at Alnwick Playhouse.

On Friday and Saturday, Blackeyed Theatre presents The Great Gatsby at the Queen’s Hall in Hexham.

Cinderella continues at the Gala in Durham until 3 January and Elf’s Christmas Toys (for the under-5s) runs from Friday until 24 December.

From Saturday until 3 January, Goldilocks & the Three Amazing Bears is at Billingham Forum.

Cinderella is this year’s panto at the Middlesbrough Theatre, running from Friday until 3 January.

Box Clever presents A Christmas Carol at Hartlepool’s Town Hall Theatre on Thursday at 1:30.

Daniel Bye’s show Going Viral is at ARC Stockton on Thursday.

Darlington Civic’s panto, Cinderella, opens on Saturday and runs until 10 January.

Jack and the Beanstalk opens at the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Saturday and runs until 3 January.

Aladdin opens at Harrogate Theatre on Tuesday and continues until 17 January.
