New British musical, Lost Boy in the new season

The new programme for London's Finborough Theatre reflects its signature mix of rediscovered and new writing.

First from the archives comes The White Carnation by R C Sherriff paired with Kieran Knowles's début play Operation Crucible, set at the time of the Sheffield Blitz.

Other writing débuts include Carthage by playwright on attachment Chris Thompson about the care system and The Domino Heart by award-winning Canadian playwright Matthew Edison.

There is also a new musical on offer, Lost Boy. This piece, which echoes Peter Pan, is directed by Phil Willmott, who also wrote the book, music and lyrics.

Another musical, Ivor Novello’s last work, Valley of Song (lyrics by Christopher Hassall, book by Phil Park), receives its professional première.

January sees the opening of TheGreatWar100 series, a commemoration of World War I over five years.
