Father Nandru and the Wolves

Father Nandru and the Wolves is to be the final full–scale production at Wilton's Music Hall before the main venue closes to allow the second phase of building works.

Written in verse by Julian Garner, the play uses puppets and live Gypsy music to help tell the story of a Transylvanian village on the edge of a catastrophe.

Father Nandru and the Wolves is part–fiction and part based on a true story from the Ceaucescu period when plans were laid for the destruction of thousands of villages to maximize agricultural production.

Julian Garner directs and puppet are made by Pickled Image, Hanne Horte, Steve Wilson and Jake the Maker.

Wilton's, the world's only surviving Grand Music Hall, received support from the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore its Grade II* listed building. During the next phase of construction works the venue will remain partially open offering activities ranging from lime mortar mixing classes to binaural sound compositions, disappearing web sites to opera cabaret.

Father Nandru & The Wolves is suitable for age 8+ with a running time of 2 hours and 15 minutes including interval. It plays Wilton's Music Hall from 18 March to 18 April.
