World Day of Theatre for Children

L'Association Internationale du Théâtre pour l'Enfance et la Jeunesse (ASSITEJ) is the force behind the World Day of Theatre for Children initiative.

Its annual ‘take a child to the theatre’ campaign takes place on 20 March and this year has the support of Unesco Artist for Peace, Guila-Clara Kessous and Nobel Peace Prize recipient, Malala Yousafzai.

ASSITEJ, which next month marks its 50th anniversary, is unique in the way that it connects thousands of children's theatre practitioners and educators in more than 80 countries across the world.

This month's programme will see special events taking place across the globe including Korea, Mexico, Nepal, USA, South Africa and France.
