The Wyvern Theatre in Swindon announces a brand-new season including Gareth Gates and Chico in Boogie Nights the Musical in Concert, Liza Goddard and Lysette Anthony in Agatha Christie’s Go Back For Murder, Ray Quinn and Beverley Callard in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, Hannah Waterman in Abigail’s Party, Toyah Wilcox in Hormonal Housewives and Dancing On Ice’s Keith Chegwin in Jack and the Beanstalk.

Theatre Director Derek Aldridge said, “I am very excited to present the spring and summer season of theatre at the Wyvern.

“The productions are of a very high quality and feature treats for all ages. My children are really looking forward to the likes of James and the Giant Peach, Grandpa In My Pocket and Dora The Explorer. Meanwhile adults can enjoy drama, musicals, comedy, dance and live music aplenty."

Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach heads to the Wyvern Theatre from Tuesday 26 – Saturday 30 March. The Birmingham Stage Company presents the amazing story of a young boy called James, who lives with Aunt Sponge and Aunt Spiker, the most revolting aunts in England. They make him work and slave and never let him play with other children.

Then one day he meets a mystical old man who gives him a bag that contains the strongest magic the world has ever known. When James accidentally spills the bag near an old peach tree, the most incredible things start to happen—and James embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with the most amazing group of characters you could ever meet.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice runs at the Wyvern Theatre from Monday 13 – Saturday 18 May. Starring Beverley Callard (Coronation Street), Ray Quinn (Dirty Dancing, Grease, Legally Blonde) and introducing Jess Robinson as Little Voice, this show features songs by the some of the world’s greatest female stars, including Shirley Bassey, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.

Mike Leigh’s Abigail’s Party runs at the Wyvern Theatre from Tuesday 28 May – Saturday 1 June. Mike Leigh’s comedy became an instant classic when it first appeared as a BBC Play for Today in 1977, the year of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee. It is a ruthless observation of the pretensions of suburbia, a world obsessed with class and taste and ruled over by the monstrous Beverley.

In addition to a host of productions on the Wyvern Theatre’s stage, the theatre also boasts a range of entertainment in the Wyvern Restaurant. Faulty Towers Dining Experience will launch theatregoers into the world of the BBC comedy series on Saturday 13 April.
