TakeOver Residency Award at York Theatre Royal

As part of York Theatre Royal–produced TakeOver Festival, TakeOver Residency offers a commission to a single professional arts company to originate a production for a local audience under the age of 26.

The selected company's output will have a one week run in October, following a period of research and development. £20,000 will be put towards their costs and it is intended that their work have a life after the Festival.

TakeOver Festival is an initiative in its fourth year whereby artists under 26 years old are mentored to take on the roles of staff at the Theatre. The Residency will put them at the heart of the process of commissioning.

Applications are now invited from artists across all disciplines who have ideas for a production for any specific or wide-ranging age group under 26 years old. First applications must be received by 6PM on 5 February.

Charlotte Bennett produces for York Theatre Royal and the project is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

For further information and full details of the application process contact Charlotte Bennett or visit the York Theatre Royal web site.
