U.Dance On Screen 2019

One Dance UK is searching for young dancers, film makers and choreographers aged 11–19 (up to 25 for those with disabilities) with an interest in creating dance work for film for U.Dance on Screen.

Selected films will be presented as part of U.Dance 2019, an annual celebration of youth dance in which hundreds of young people from across the UK present work during one weekend in a different city in the UK each year, which this year takes place at Southbank Centre in London on 20 and 21 July.

U.Dance on Screen allows young film makers, choreographers and dancers to explore new ways of creating and performing dance that is specifically made for film and to have their work reviewed by leading dance and film industry experts.

Mark Reid, Head of Education at BFI Southbank, said, “here at BFI, we are always looking at ways of engaging young people and allowing them to explore their creative talents within the world of film. We are thrilled to be able to support U.Dance on Screen 2019 and can’t wait to see the work submitted from the next generation of film makers and choreographers.”

U.Dance on Screen is open to any dance style or genre and previous experience of creating dance for film is not necessary.
