Tuesdays at Tescos

Simon Callow plays Paul/Pauline, a transvestite. That is all that one needs to know about Tuesdays at Tescos, directed by Simon Stokes.

Callow is a fine actor who shines and could almost be worth the admission price but the gently amusing script rarely veers from the predictable, once one learns that Paul's (he could never see him as Pauline) father is uncomfortable with his son's sexuality.

If you want to see a really good example of convincing cross-dressing, this is the show to visit. For anyone else, there will be better opportunities to see this actor exploring more demanding work in future.
