Mcluckie’s Line – tour starts 1 September

Mcluckie's Line by Martin Travers and Martin Docherty tours after its première at Citizens Theatre in April.

A love letter to Scottish actors and acting, it is set in a time when Scottish theatre was either gritty drama or populist comedy and aims to be both.

Lawrence McLuckie has a wounded soul; an unemployed actor and compulsive gambler, he awaits a phone call from his aloof theatrical agent that will change his life forever.

Martin Docherty, whose credits include Still Game, Rab C Nesbit, Dear Green Place, River City, Gary: Tank Commander, Father Brown on screen and Roddy Munro, Antigone, The Hard Man, Scarfed for Life and The Invisible Hand amongst others on stage, delivers the monologue.

Broke Lad present Mcluckie's Line which visits Eden Court Inverness, Castlemilk Youth Complex, Howden Park Centre Livingston, Macrobert Arts Centre Stirling, Dundee Rep Dundee, Platform Glasgow Community Tour, Beacon Arts Centre Greenock, Harbour Arts Centre Irvine, FTH Theatre Falkirk, Glen Halls Neilston , Eastwood Theatre Giffnock, Motherwell Theatre Motherwell, The Brunton Musselburgh and Assembly Roxy Edinburgh.

The Full Monty – tour starts 6 September

The Full Monty tours with Dancing on Ice winner, Gary Lucy, in the lead.

Lucy is joined by Andrew Dunn, Louis Emerick, Joe Gill, Kai Owen and James Redmond.

Written by Oscar-winning writer Simon Beaufoy, the show is based on the popular film for which he wrote the screenplay and features the songs from the film by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

Former cast member Rupert Hill directs the production which has choreography by Ian West and is presented by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers and is a Sheffield Theatres production.

The Full Monty visits Cheltenham Everyman, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Storyhouse Chester, Dublin Gaiety Theatre, INEC Killarney, Grand Opera House York, Churchill Theatre Bromley, Wyvern Theatre Swindon, Birmingham Hippodrome, Darlington Hippodrome, Stoke Regent Theatre, Norwich Theatre Royal, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Mayflower Theatre Southampton and Sheffield Lyceum Theatre with further venues to be added.

Fup – tour starts 7 September

US novelist Jim Dodge’s strange and comic modern best-seller about family, love, loss and an overweight whiskey-swilling duck, Fup, comes to the stage in an adaptation which sees the cult novella that celebrates eccentricity and rural living transposed to the wilds of Cornwall.

Presented by Kneehigh and o-region, this production has puppets designed by Lyndie Wright and directed by Sarah Wright and music by Ben Sutcliffe.

Artistic director of o-region and associate director and artist of Kneehigh, Simon Harvey, also directs a cast made up of Jenny Beare, Calvin A Dean, Rachel Leonard and Dave Mynne with musicians Zaid Al-Rikabi and Ben Sutcliffe.

Fup visits The Asylum Tent, The Lost Gardens of Heligan Cornwall, Nottingham Playhouse, Warwick Arts Centre, Liverpool Everyman and NST Campus Nuffield Southampton Theatres.

Touching the Void – tour starts 8 September

Joe Simpson's memoir Touching the Void, which charts his struggle for survival on the perilous Siula Grande mountain in the Peruvian Andes in 1985, became an international bestseller and BAFTA-winning film.

For Fuel Theatre, Tom Morris directs the first stage adaptation of this adventure, written by artistic director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, David Greig.

The composer is Jon Nicholls and the movement director is Sasha Milavic Davies. It is co-production from Bristol Old Vic, Royal & Derngate, Northampton and Fuel.

Touching the Void visits Bristol Old Vic, Royal and Derngate and Royal Lyceum Theatre.

Charlie Ward – tour starts 11 September

Fuel presents Sound&Fury’s Charlie Ward a WWI inspired installation, co-commissioned by 14-18 NOW.

This intimate, immersive sound installation has an audience of 10 per performance and uses darkness, minimal lighting and immersive sound design to conjure up the experience of being a WWI patient on Charlie Ward in order to connect WWI to contemporary consciousness.

Sound&Fury is a collaborative theatre company directed by Mark Espiner, Tom Espiner and Dan Jones. Previous work includes The Watery Part of the World, Ether Frolics and Kursk.

Fuel was founded by and is led by Kate McGrath; the company produces work across art forms for a large and representative audience.

Charlie Ward visits Theatre Deli Sheffield, York Army Museum, Perth Theatre and Leeds Town Hall.
