A new dance teacher for Billy

Award-winning Ruthie Henshall will play the role of dance teacher Mrs Wilkinson in Billy Elliot the Musical from May.

Henshall has extensive musical theatre credits in the West End and on Broadway as well as a recording artist; her work on television includes being a judge on ITV’s Dancing on Ice.

Other cast changes in May include Chris Grahamson who is to play Billy’s brother Tony and Barnaby Meredith returns to play Older Billy.

Billy Elliot the Musical, which is playing at London's Victoria Palace Theatre, has music by Elton John and book and lyrics by Lee Hall.

The show is based on the film, Billy Elliot, in which a young boy pursues his passion for dance in secret to avoid the disapproval of his family.
