Quasimodo

As previously reported, Lionel Bart's Quasimodo will have its world première at London's King’s Head Theatre in March.

Casting this challenging role was never going to be easy and the show's producers are holding open auditions at the Theatre from 10 o'clock on Tuesday (15 January) in order to find an 18- to 25-year-old to play this iconic part.

Aspiring Quasimodos should, it is said, be able to sing like Tom Jones and have "the vulnerability of Charles Laughton and the animal magnetism of a young Tom Hardy".

Those wishing to audition should turn up on Tuesday but questions may be sent by e-mail prior to that at [email protected].

Quasimodo will be produced by TheatreUpClose and directed by King’s Head Theatre associate Robert Chevara. Last year Chevara directed Tennessee Williams’s Vieux Carré which sold out at the Islington venue and went to transfer to the Charing Cross Theatre.
