Florian Zeller's The Mother

London's Tricycle Theatre has announced the cast for its presentation of the Theatre Royal Bath production of Florian Zeller's The Mother, in a new translation by Christopher Hampton.

Laurence Boswell, artistic director of the Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath, directs Richard Clothier, Gina McKee and William Postlethwaite who will all reprise their roles with new cast member Frances McNamee when the production opens in the new year.

Richard Clothier plays The Father, Peter. His stage credits include Play Strindberg, King Lear, Fifty Words, Richard III, The Comedy Of Errors and Enlightenment.

The Mother, Anne, is played by Olivier nominee Gina McKee whose theatre credits include Richard III, King Lear, Di and Viv and Rose, Ivanov, Old Times and Aristocrats at the National Theatre and Five Kinds of Silence and Hammett’s Apprentice at the Royal Court Theatre.

Frances McNamee plays The Girl, Élodie. Her theatre credits include Love's Labour's Lost, Love's Labour's Won, Punishment without Revenge and Pride and Prejudice at Regent's Park, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Borrowers, Epsom Downs, The Phoenix of Madrid and Les Misérables 20th Anniversary Gala Performance.

William Postlethwaite plays The Son, Nicholas. His stage credits include Brave New World, Journey’s End, Our Ajax, King Lear, Longing, Cinderella - the Midnight Princess, Fireface, Collaborators and As You Like.

Award-winning playwright Florian Zeller's Tricycle sell-out run The Father has transferred to the Wyndham’s Theatre.

The Mother will play The Tricycle Theatre from 21 January to 5 March. Tickets are on sale. It runs 85 minutes with no interval and is suitable for those aged 14 and over.

There is an audio described performance on 9 February and a captioned performance on 25 February.
