Drama and comedy in new Birmingham season

Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre has revealed details of some of the shows which will make up its spring season.

The Rocky Horror Show returns to Birmingham with a 40th anniversary production featuring Rhydian, Oliver Thornton, Roxanne Pallett and Ben Forster from 28 January until 2 February.

Karl Howman, Bruno Langley, Elizabeth Power, Graham Seed, Steven France, Jemma Walker, Clare Wilkie and Bob Saul appear in the first national tour of Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap from 4 until 9 February.

Nichola McAuliffe appears in her comedy Maurice’s Jubilee along with Julian Glover and Sheila Reid from 5 until 9 March.

Jason Donovan then takes up residency at the New Alexandra for two weeks in Priscilla Queen of the Desert from 18 until 30 March.

The Chichester Festival Theatre production of Goodnight Mister Tom, David Wood’s play from Michelle Magorian’s novel, tours to the New Alexandra from 9 until 13 April.
