Cinderella Games, a film project inspired by Christopher Wheeldon’s production of Prokofiev's Cinderella for English National Ballet, will be shown online at 7PM on Tuesday 14 July on ENB’s Facebook and YouTube channels, followed by a Q&A with directors and choreographers Jessica Wright and Morgann Runacre-Temple.

Shot in the Royal Albert Hall and Kempton Steam Museum, the film, the third dance film ENB has produced directed and choreographed by Wright and Runacre-Temple (known collectively as Jess and Morgs), imagines the fairy-tale with an alternate ending: after the ball, the real Cinderella is never found, and instead a sinister gameshow is created in which contestants compete for its title.

ENB’s Engagement Department recruited 35 participants from a range of dance backgrounds to work alongside professional performers Chihiro Kawasaki and Matthew Hawkins. The film was screened during the company’s autumn and winter 2019 tour as a curtain-raiser for select performances of Cinderella and is being shown at film festivals worldwide in 2020.

Alongside their collaboration, Jess was a dancer for Company Wayne McGregor for 11 years and Morgs is a freelance choreographer for dance and theatre.
