Actor Luke Treadaway is to star in a gala evening of comedy, theatre, music in support of charities Ambitious about Autism and The National Autistic Society produced with director Katy Rudd.

The event will take place on the set of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time whose cast will perform a new detective story specially written by playwright Simon Stephens and author Mark Haddon. Dame Helen Mirren, Doctor Who’s Matt Smith and Sherlock’s Andrew Scott appear in filmed performances.

A full list of guest artists for the evening is to be announced but Tea at The Ritz with Matt Smith will be one of the items on offer at the live auction.

Luke Treadaway said: "Katy and I had the idea to produce an autism fundraising event for when The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time first started at the Cottesloe Theatre.

"During rehearsals I’d met Ambitious about Autism’s Youth Patron Cian Binchy and he really impressed me and helped me understand what it can be like to live with autism.

"We want the money we raise to go towards supporting people with autism and I’m so grateful to everyone who is giving their time and talent to put on the best show possible."

A Curious Night at the Theatre takes place on 1 July at the Apollo Theatre London.

£500 and £250 tickets which include pre-show Champagne reception (£500 tickets also include the after-show party) may be booked at www.rsvpbook.com/curiousnight.
