Belfast-based producer and general manager Liam McMullan has been announced as the new Executive Director for Cirencester’s The Barn theatre.
He joins Artistic Director Iwan Lewis, who says McMullan’s appointment “brings an exciting new energy that will help us achieve the bold ambitions we’ve set for the Barn”.
In 2022, McMullan won an Aisling Award for In The Name of The Son, which he produced for GBL Productions and Green Shoot Productions, and was seen at the Lyric Theatre and Grand Opera House in Belfast, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and in New Zealand.
He has previously worked with the National Theatre, Dublin’s Gaiety Theatre, Les Ballets Trocadero de Monte Carlo, Riverdance and Festival Republic, and had been working at The Barn as its commercial producer.
McMullan recently produced the 25th anniversary revival of Marie Jones’s Stones in His Pockets in a collaboration between The Barn and Bolton’s Octagon Theatre, where it will play from October 22–November 2 following its Salisbury Playhouse run from October 1–19.
