Two new productions will run concurrently at the Little Angel Theatre to entertain young and old this Christmas.

For the little ones is Dogs Don’t Do Ballet based on the book by Anna Kemp, illustrated by Sarah Ogilvy. Here the sublime and ridiculous come together in the tale of Biff, the dog that thinks he is a ballerina.

This adaptation has been achieved by David Duffy and Andrea Sadler. David Duffy also directs and the puppeteers are Ronnie Le Drew and Andrea Sadler. The set and props are designed by Tim Sykes and the puppets and costumes are designed and made by Keith Frederick.

This show is suitable for those aged two to six and the grown ups lucky enough to accompany them.

For age six and upwards is Pinocchio. In a new version of the Carlo Collodi novel by Angela Miguel this Italian classic is brought to life by a cast of four using puppets and masks. Peter O’Rourke is designing and making the puppets and directs. His previous credits include the charming The Giraffe and The Pelly and Me and Alice In Wonderland. Music and lyrics for the show are by Pete Flood of folk band Bellowhead. The puppeteers on Pinocchio are Jonny Dixon, Stewart Fraser, Lori Hopkins and Mandy Travis.

Both productions run to the end of January. For further information, booking and the full programme visit the web site www.littleangeltheatre.com.
