Internationally renowned company Phoenix Dance Theatre returns to Liverpool Playhouse next Tuesday, with a triple bill that contains all the hallmarks of Phoenix’s work.

In the year that marks the 450th anniversary of the birth of William Shakespeare the 2014 Demi-Paradise production of Othello at Lancaster Castle opens next Thursday. The production runs until March 22.

The Royal Shakespeare Company present their First Encounter production of The Taming of The Shrew live on Blackpool Grand Theatre’s stage this week. Using an edited version of the original text, it will also include an introduction to the performance and a chance to hear from the actors, to create a first experience of seeing Shakespeare live.

Following a successful run in London’s West End, the first UK and Ireland tour of the hit Beatles show Let It Be will launch at the Palace Theatre Manchester this week.

Acclaimed all-male Shakespeare company Propeller returns to The Lowry in Salford this week with its productions of The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

The Seagull, one of Anton Chekhov’s masterpieces, will be the final production under The Library Theatre Company banner in Manchester before it becomes Home, the new organisation created by its merger with Cornerhouse. It runs to March 8 at The Lowry in Salford.

Following on from productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth, Twelfth Night is the fourth Bolton Octagon Shakespeare production to be directed by Olivier Award-winning artistic director David Thacker.
