Following the Royal Northern College of Music’s critically-acclaimed production of Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore last season, the RNCM Opera turns to Gluck this Spring, and a double-bill featuring The Drunkard Cured and Orfeo ed Euridice.

There will be another chance to see Vienna by Mike Francis Carvalho, which ended its UK tour at Manchester’s Nowt Part Of Festival last July. It will be at Waterside Arts Centre in Sale on 20 March.

A play first seen in Preston, as part of the city’s Tringe festival of fringe theatre, returns to the city on a national tour which also includes London performances. Hidden delves into the lives of six young people living in a city sprawl and is at Korova arts and café bar in Preston next Friday.

The Dukes in Lancaster stages a bold new production: Your Country Needs You! (But I don’t need my country…). Some of the 50 members of The Dukes Young Actors and Young Company presenting the production are the same age as many soldiers who served in the Great War.

Powerful new dance pieces combine to challenge and delight in the haunting Triple Bill from Dancing Partners at Blackpool Grand on Tuesday.
