The Roadless Trip at the Nuffield Theatre, Lancaster Arts, on Thursday is invitation to imagine a positive future. Having toured Lancaster visiting community groups the show returns incorporating interviews and ideas of these groups into the final production.

The theatre producers behind The Preston Bill, which was performed at the Continental pub theatre earlier this month, deliver letters Straight From The Heart at the venue next Wednesday.

Preston Charter Theatre plays its part in the nationwide Shakespeare Schools Festival from Wednesday to Friday. Each night up to four local schools will stage different plays.

As part of Blackpool Grand’s season of drama and murder mystery, comes Sherlock Holmes and the Ripper Murders. It’s at the Grand from Tuesday to Saturday.

Music legend Tommy Steele takes to the stage in a new imagining of the extraordinary tale of the world’s most famous big band leader in The Glenn Miller Story, arriving at the Palace Theatre in Manchester from Monday to Saturday.

Many famous names and faces pop up in the unlikeliest of theatre settings when the 14th ‘edition’ of JB Shorts opens in Manchester next week. After 13 sell-out seasons and 78 world premières, Reallife Theatre Company stages another evening of six more 15-minute plays by top TV writers and performers.

West Yorkshire Playhouse is currently touring Maxine Peake’s stage play Beryl, based on the actress’s radio play about Beryl Burton, the champion cyclist. There are currently two versions (same cast, two sets) one of which is doing one night stands on a Rural Touring scheme and the larger version is touring to theatres—including the Quays at The Lowry next Monday to Wednesday.
