There was more news from planet panto this week with the announcement of the first Panto Day tweeters.
Last year, Panto Day's official hashtag #panto trended in various towns and cities, as it reached over 1.5 million Twitter users.
For 2013, A Day in the Life of Pantoland tweeting is back and will feature television's Neighbours star Alan Fletcher, Scotland's favourite panto Villain Grant Stott and Kilmarnock's favourite Dame, Craig Glover.
Joining them is Kev Orkian who said, "Panto season is the greatest. A real opportunity to bring madness, mayhem, and magic into one show. No other theatrical regime is as physically hard or as emotionally rewarding.
"I can't wait to live tweet about Panto Day. Bringing all the actors, singers and dancers from every panto around the country together is going to be crazy fun… exactly what Panto is about…!"
To join in the fun follow:
- Alan Fletcher (@DoctorKK) who plays the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at the Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks
- Grant Stott (@GrantStott973) who plays Captain Hook in Peter Pan, his ninth consecutive pantomime at the King's Theatre, Edinburgh
- Kev Orkian (@TheKevOrkian) who plays Muddles in Snow White at Milton Keynes Theatre
- Craig Glover (@craigglover) who plays Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock
Panto Day recently launched its I Love Panto Because… campaign for panto lovers to record and share a short film about their panto passion online. Visit Panto Day YouTube channel and Facebook page to upload and view.
