First created in 2013, Protein's Border Tales is to be made available online on Thursday 7 May 2020 at 7PM, preceded by an introduction from Artistic Director Luca Silvestrini, as part of a series of weekly streaming events on Thursday evenings from The Place Online which will continue for a further four weeks.

This release will launch Protein 21 Remix Series, the third part of the company's anniversary celebrations programme. Border Tales is a commentary on multicultural Britain using dance, live music and dialogue compiled from the performers’ personal experiences with a score by Andy Pink and additional music by Anthar Kharana and lighting by Jackie Shemesh.

This year, Protein celebrates its 21st anniversary and has announced a celebratory programme to mark the milestone. As part of this, dance groups around the country were invited to create short works in response to Protein’s popular shows. Reimagining Protein, a short video featuring some of the work created so far, can be viewed on YouTube.
