The Icebook - a miniature theatre show at Stratford-upon-Avon
The Icebook

A miniature theatre show created using paper cut outs and video projection is amongst the programme of events presented by the RSC at Stratford.

Based in a fantasy world, The Icebook plays to an audience of ten and runs for only 20 minutes in its telling of a magical story, whilst Love Letters Straight From Your Heart offers a unique event based on song dedications from the audience which promises socialising over Cava, spoken dedications, songs and dancing.

Puppets feature in Cloud Man together with storytelling and sumptuous visuals to create a journey to the top of Cloud Mountain for children aged four to seven, and more stories are on offer with Theatre Jukebox a cabinet of picture postcards that plays stories based on the images. Related to Brecht’s A Life of Galileo, the jukebox is created by Stand+Stare, who brought its fusion of cheese and performance, The Guild of Cheesemakers, to Stratford in 2012.

For half term a variety of family activities are also available. These range from behind the scenes tours, make up demonstrations, workshops on stage fighting, and a 'blood guts and gore' demonstration on the making of fake wounds.

There is also an opportunity to create a new play based on The Winter’s Tale or take part in interactive storytelling sessions.
