Ten top touring shows at Coventry’s Belgrade

Dead Simple from 26 until 31 January
The History Boys from 3 until 7 February
And Then There Were None from 16 until 21 February

Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre has announced that ten new shows will visit the theatre in spring 2015 including a new tour of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys, the return of Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the world stage première of John Boyne’s best-selling novel The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.

The season starts with the stage version of crime writer Peter James’s best-seller Dead Simple from 26 until 31 January. Directed by Olivier Award winner Ian Talbot and adapted by Shaun McKenna, this thriller features Holby City favourite Tina Hobly, Jamie Lomas, best known for his roles in Eastenders and Casualty, and Gray O’Brien, who has appeared in Coronation Street, Titanic, Peak Practice and Casualty, as Detective Roy Grace.

This will be followed by a visit from Alan Bennett’s award-winning play The History Boys from 3 until 7 February.

The Belgrade will play host to Reginald Rose’s gripping courtroom thriller Twelve Angry Men which goes on tour after a record-breaking run in the West End. Coventry will give its verdict from 9 until 14 February.

The Agatha Christie Theatre Company returns with another instalment of classic mystery in And Then There Were None from 16 until 21 February before Terry Johnson’s new adaptation of Joan Littlewood’s satirical masterpiece Oh! What A Lovely War visits the Belgrade from 30 March until 4 April.

The Touring Consortium Theatre Company presents a new production of Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge from 8 until 11 April, then Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat bursts onto the Belgrade main stage from 21 until 25 April.

Families can look forward to 3D fun with the return of Horrible Histories in an all-new double-bill, Groovy Greeks and Incredible Invaders, from 26 until 30 May.

London Classic Theatre will stage a new production of Alan Ayckbourn’s comedy Absent Friends from 8 until 13 June before the Children’s Touring Partnership performs the world première stage production of Boy In The Striped Pyjamas from 16 until 20 June.
