January sees the European première of The Grand Tour, the 1979 musical with music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Michael Stewart and Mark Bramble as part of the Finborough Theatre's 20 Premières Season.

Herman also collaborated with Stewart on Hello, Dolly! and Mack & Mabel whilst Stewart has also worked with Bramble on Barnum and 42nd Street.

Set in 1940s France, The Grand Tour finds beauty, light and humour in one of history’s darkest hours.

Offie award–winning director Thom Southerland will direct a cast led by Alastair Brookshaw, Nick Kyle and Zoë Doano.

Alastair Brookshaw's credits include Leo Frank in Southerland’s production of Parade at Southwark Playhouse and Oscar Wilde in the première of De Profundis, winner of Leicester Square Theatre’s The New Musical Project.

New Zealander Nik Kyle starred as Chris in the NZ premiere of Miss Saigon, Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar and Anthony in Sweeney Todd. Amongst Zoë Doano's credits are Sweet Smell of Success, High Society and Les Miserables.

In support are Michael Cotton, Laurel Dougall, Elizabeth Graham, Natasha Karp, Vincent Pirillo, Blair Robertson, Samuel J Weir and Lizzie Wofford.

The Grand Tour runs from 1 January to 21 February.
