Theatre Fest West 2016

Theatre Fest West is back for its fifth year with an expanded programme showcasing the work of theatre makers from across the region with theatre, dance, comedy and family events.

Theatre performances include:

  • Over the Top about the life of Wiltshire World War I heroine Dorothy Lawrence.
  • Bucket List from Theatre Ad Infinitum about a Mexican orphan's journey from sweatshop to Harvard University.
  • The Beanfield, a multimedia show about the conflict between riot police and a convoy of New Age travellers on their way to set up the 1985 Stonehenge Free Festival.
  • Nel, the story of a Foley artist, identity, friendship and introversion.
  • Family show In the Bellows from Undertow.
  • Comedy-drama Unearthed from Folio Theatre.
  • Tess of the d'Urbervilles, an outdoors production by SISATA.

There is a programme of events for young audiences.

The South West Theatre Symposium and Meet the Programmers discuss theatre making in the area.

Theatre Fest West runs from 18 March to 2 April at Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury Arts Centre, The Pound arts centre in Corsham, Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge Arts.
