The world’s first on-demand virtual reality theatre platform has been launched by LIVR.

Available now for iOS and Android devices and shortly on Oculus Go, the service offers a monthly subscription at £5.99 which releases one show per period. A VR headset is sent free on registration.

The subscription provides access to high-quality content covering theatre and performing arts events with a fully immersive 360° virtual reality experience. The library currently offers Hamlet, Medea Electronica, Songlines, Lights Over Tesco Car Park, Bismillah! and A Serious Play about World War II, amongst others. A further eight productions are expected to be added per month.

LIVR aims to attract audiences that want to see shows they have missed, were not able to get to or that they want to see again.
