All-male company Propeller comes to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal this week with The Taming of the Shrew on Tuesday and Friday and Twelfth Night on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. In the Studio from Tuesday to Saturday, Studio Productions presents Gaslight on Grey Street by Janet Plater.

At Northern Stage Blue Remembered Hills continues until 11th May.

On Tuesday and Wednesday China Plate brings Caroline Horton’s Mess to Live Theatre’s main house, while in the Studio on Thursday Live ARCADE presents Staggered and on Saturday Improvisation Foundation presents Rat Race.

On Wednesday Bombastic brings The Magic Doors to Dance City.

On Thursday Cap-a-Poe brings Under Us All to the Sanctuary Artspace in Gateshead High Street.

On Thursday Arts Centre Washington presents its scratch night Greenhouse.

At the Customs House in South Shields on Monday Appetite Dance Productions presents a double bill, Letters to My Father and CRUSH. The rest of the week is given over to SunFest, the showcase of Sunderland University’s performing arts students.

On Wednesday Red Ladder Theatre brings The Thing About Psychopaths to The Maltings in Berwick.

At the Queen’s Hall in Hexham on Friday and Saturday Jemms Performance Company presents How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Staggered comes to ARC Stockton on Tuesday (sold out) and Friday, and on Thursday China Plate’s Mess arrives at the venue.

On Friday Mikron Theatre Company brings Don’t Shoot the Messenger! to the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond..

Thunder Road Theatre Company presents The Count of Monte Cristo in the Harrogate Theatre Studio from Wednesday to 11th May.
