Mary Poppins continues at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal until 29 October.

At Northern Stage The Season Ticket continues in Stage 1 until Saturday. In Stage 2 from Thursday to Saturday RashDash presents Two Man Sho in which two women play two women playing two men.

A co-production between Live Theatre and Paines Plough, Broken Biscuits by Tom Wells begins previews on Wednesday and runs until 22 October.

At Alphabetti from Tuesday to Saturday Alphabetti Theatre in partnership with Gary Kitching & Co presents Bacon Knees and Sausage Fingers, a new play about two social outsiders spawning a bizarre new friendship.

From Tuesday to Saturday, the story of The Kinks, Sunny Afternoon, comes to Sunderland Empire.

On Thursday at Arts Centre Washington, 154 Collective presents Under the Bed - a grown up fairytale.

On Wednesday, Sunderland Stages brings Zest Theatre’s Thrive to the Cityspace Studio at Sunderland University, Chester Road, Sunderland.

At the Customs House in South Shields this week: on Tuesday Under the Bed is in Dalton’s and on Sunday in the Theatre Kathryn Barker Productions presents Fringe First winner The Collector.

On Thursday and Friday, new comedy Seriously Dead comes to the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth.

On Tuesday and Wednesday Black Theatre Live brings Hamlet to the Queen’s Hall in Hexham and on Saturday at 11AM and 2PM in The White Room Up the Road Theatre presents Bardolph’s Box, a rollercoaster ride through Shakespeare’s stories for ages 8 to 12 years.

On Tuesday at 2PM and 7:30PM, Your Bard, written and performed by Nicholas Collett with additional material by William Shakespeare, comes to Playhouse Whitley Bay.

On Wednesday and Thursday at Durham’s Gala Theatre, Mad Alice Theatre Company in association with Queen’s Hall Arts & Action Transport Theatre present one-woman show She Wins All the Races. Then, on Friday, Nottingham Playhouse Theatre Company brings its touring production Tony’s Last Tape to the theatre and on Saturday at 10:30 it’s the turn of the Durham Book Festival’s touring production for the under-7s, Hey Presto!—but this show is sold out. Finally, on Sunday at 2:30, there is another Book Festival event, Matt Miller’s Sticking, a solo, spoken word theatre show about moving away from home for the first time.

R C Sherriff’s Home at Seven comes to Billingham Forum from Monday to Wednesday.

Unlimited Theatre presents Am I Dead Yet? at ARC Stockton on Thursday at 7PM and on Saturday at 11:30AM and 2:30PM, Fidget Theatre presents Molly’s Marvellous Moustache for age 3 to 7.

Bookish, a show about books chosen by the audience (from a selection) prior to the show, comes to the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Tuesday

For the next two weeks, the Harrogate Comedy Festival runs at Harrogate Theatre.
