Northampton’s Royal and Derngate is in the running for two accolades in the UK Theatre Awards 2015.
The theatre has been nominated for a management award in the best presentation of touring theatre category for its Made in Northampton co-produced work. Actor Ashley Day has been nominated for best performance in a musical for his role in Oklahoma!.
Over the past year, Royal and Derngate has worked with Northern Stage, Touring Consortium Theatre Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse. “We’re really proud of the recognition that Royal and Derngate’s work is achieving, both locally and nationally,” said the theatre’s chief executive Martin Sutherland, “and we’ve been incredibly lucky to work with so many brilliant partner organisations to take our work across the country.”
The UK Theatre Awards 2015 will be presented at London’s Guildhall Theatre on Sunday 18 October.
