Shobna Gulati and Joe McGann are to star is a touring production of John Godber's April In Paris directed by its writer.
John Godber is the third most performed playwright in the UK, after William Shakespeare and Alan Ayckbourn. His plays include Teechers, Bouncers and Up ’n’ Under.
Shobna Gulati will be known to television watchers for playing Anita in Dinnerladies and Sunita Alahan in Coronation Street and more recently for her appearances on Loose Women.
Joe McGann's television credits include The Upper Hand which ran for six years whilst amongst his stages roles are Nathan Detroit in Guys And Dolls, Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof and Ray Say in The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice.
April In Paris is an Olivier–nominated bittersweet comedy about the marriage between Al and Bet.
April in Paris will open at Derby Theatre in June and then go on to Brighton, Woking, Aylesbury, Malvern, Bromley, Glasgow, Crewe, Manchester, Richmond, Chesterfield, New Brighton, Dundee and Coventry.
