Right royal season in Nottingham as stars line up

Paul Michael Glaser who appears in Fiddler on the Roof from 17 until 21 September
Matthew Kelly takes the role of the headmaster in To Sir, With Love from 15 until 19 October
Ben Miller in The Duck House from 11 until 16 November

Paul Michael Glaser, Matthew Kelly, Gwen Taylor, Felicity Kendal and Simon Callow are scheduled to appear at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham from September until November.

Paul Michael Glaser, otherwise known as Starsky in the TV series Starsky and Hutch, takes the lead role in the Craig Revel Horwood-choreographed show Fiddler on the Roof from 17 until 21 September.

The 40th anniversary production of Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show, featuring Ben Forster, Dani Harmer and Philip Franks, visits from 23 until 28 September before Northern Ballet produces a tangled web of love in A Midsummer Night’s Dream from 1 until 5 October.

Inspired by the music of Madness, Our House takes over the Theatre Royal from 8 until 12 October and will be followed by Matthew Kelly in the Touring Consortium production of To Sir, With Love from 15 until 19 October.

Derbyshire actress Gwen Taylor, who played Millie in the New Perspectives Theatre Company production of Michael Morpurgo’s The Butterfly Lion in 2012, reprises the role in the Mercury Theatre Colchester production of the play which tours to Nottingham from 22 to 26 October.

On Saturday 26 October there will be a family open day including backstage tours which will allow visitors the opportunity to see behind the scenes of The Butterfly Lion.

Felicity Kendal and Simon Callow star in Willis Hall’s adaptation of Francois Billetdoux’s comedy Chin Chin from 28 October until 2 November.

Ben Miller and Terry Johnson feature in Dan Patterson and Colin Swash’s new comedy set in the Houses of Parliament The Duck House, touring to Nottingham from 11 until 16 November before it goes to the West End.

Opera North is at the Theatre Royal from 19 until 23 November with a triple Britten bill, Peter Grimes, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Death In Venice.

Dreamboats and Petticoats—The Musical, which stars Mark Wynter, takes over the Theatre Royal stage from 25 until 30 November.

In the Royal Concert Hall, Slava’s Snow Show returns from 6 until 10 November and will be followed by the 20th anniversary concert of Rent on 12 November; The Vagina Monologues on 14 November; and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Radio Show Live! on 15 November.
